Ethiopian Buticha (Spicy Chickpea Dip)
This popular spicy chickpea dip from Ethiopia in West Africa (which is ready in only 7 minutes!) is the perfect accompaniment to Injera; an Ethiopian style pancake which is rolled up and cut into small pieces, ready for dunking. Delicious!

Buticha is a beautiful spicy chickpea dip that is packed with flavour and sumptuous spices. You can dip just about anything into this and we guarantee it will be delicious!
- 1 cup chickpeas cooked
- 1 cup water
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 cup red onion finely chopped
- 1/2 juice lemon
- 1 tsp mustard
- 1 tsp chilli flakes
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
Put all ingredients into a blender and blitz until a smooth consistency is achieved.
Chill in the fridge for about an hour before serving. Garnish with a lemon wedge to be all fancy.
