Cambodian Cucumber Side

Cucumber salad is a refreshing side dish, particularly when eating spicy Cambodian food!

Rest before serving 1 hour

  • 1 cucumber medium sized
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 garlic clove minced
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce/tamari
  • 1 tbsp rice wine vinegar
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 tsp chill flakes (optional)


  1. Wash your cucumber, slice length ways and then into 1/2 pieces.

  2. Mix the remaining ingredients in a bowl.

  3. Add the cucumber slices and cover well with the marinade.

  4. Chill in the fridge for a minimum of 1 hour before serving.

    This was a lovely little side dish to go with a spicy curry, helped to cool my mouth down! Highly recommend giving this a try, very easy to make also which is a bonus.
